Music mogul Dr Dre has been signed by New Line to a multiyear producing deal via his Crucial Films banner. The Dr will co-produce with Phillip Atwell and plans to focus on dark comedies before moving on to the likes of horror.
Dre has worked with new Line before scoring for ‘Set it Off’
Toby Emmerich first approached Dre a year ago to convince him he would be most welcome at New Line. Dre’s produced albums have sold more than 80,000,000 worldwide and have won 4 Grammy awards. He has worked with the likes of Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Eminem, and Mary J Blige.
