Beano comic and the Doctor:

A special edition of the Beano has been created for Comic Relief. The special edition will see Doctor Who, Rowan Atkinson, and Jamie Oliver appear. In the issue the Bash Street Kids will be force to study by the Daleks, and Jamie Oliver will be cooking the kids school dinner.

Beano editor Euan Kerr said of the special guests. “Dennis and the rest have promised to be gentle with them.”

BeanoMax, is the first special edition and due out monthly, and will run alongside the weekly Beano, and is targeted at ages 9 to 13.

More stars are lined up for future appearances including, Jonathan Ross, McFly, and footballers Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

Dundee based DC Thompson who publishes the Beano celebrates its 70th anniversary next year.
