
One of Sweden’s best known authors Marianne Fredriksson has died at the age of 79 from a heart attack. The author began writing books back in the 1980’s and wrote 13 novels and many non-fiction books. Fredriksson has sold upwards of 17,000,000 copies worldwide, and has been translated into more than 40 languages. Her earlier works include The Book of Cain and The Book of Eve, both taking on a Biblical theme with a new slant. One of her best known works was Hanna’s Daughters which told the tale of three generations of women.
