Casino Royale Book Flops

A damaged First edition of Ian Fleming’s novel Casino Royale was put up for auction at Bloomsbury Auctions, and was expected to fetch £8,000 to £10,000. However, the copy didn’t manage to reach its undisclosed reserve price so went unsold.

Other 007 memorabilia that did sell was a first edition of The Spy Who Loved Me, which pulled £1,200.

In 1953, unknown Author Fleming published his first edition of Casino Royale which sold at that time for the equivalent of a princely 52p.
