
A rare edition of John Steinbeck’s 1939 book “The Grapes of Wrath” had pulled a massive $47,000 at auction. The auction held by Bonhams & Butterfields sold a number of Stienbeck’s works including a copy of “East of Eden” for $8,365, “Of Mice and Men” for $7,768, and “In Dubious Battle” for $11,353.
These books were owned by Steinbeck’s sister Elizabeth Steinbeck Ainsworth. The collection of Steinbeck works pulled in more than $200,000.
