Singer Beyonce Knowles is under fire after an ad showing her smoking holding a cigarette holder were shown in newspapers and billboards round the country.
Quit, the anti-smoking group has written to the Federal Department of Health complaining that the tour ad could breach the Tobacco Advertising Prohibition Act.
Executive director of Quit, Todd Harper has said the ad could possibly be seen as promoting a smoking product which is against the law.
According to website Smoking Sides, Beyonce has been seen smoking in nightclubs. However, on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2001 Beyonce stated that she did not smoke.
A representative from the tour said the picture was taken from the back of the singers album cover and was approved by her manager and Sony BMG.
