Hugh Jackman Favourite for Gone With the Wind Broadway Musical

Hugh Jackman is on the short list to play Rhett Butler in the Broadway musical adaptation of Gone with the Wind which should be in production sometime in 2008 as producers have now been given the rights by the Mitchell estate.

Jill Pace is also on the short list to play Scarlett O’Hara, many may not know Jill Pace but she has worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber as a co star in Woman in White, and what producers like about Pace is how much she resembles Vivien Leigh.

Margaret Mitchell the author of the novel would be pleased to know that the musical will follow the book much more than the movie. Expect the musical to be much darker than the film as it is told through Tara’s eyes, the slave girl.

I think that Gone with the wind being turned into a musical is insulting!

I would f*** Hugh Jackman like it’s no one’s buisness, but I can’t see him as Rhett Butler. I should only see him in my bed.
