JJ Abrams to direct Star Trek 11

Trade paper The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that JJ Abrams is to direct the eleventh Star Trek movie. The latest movie will be centred round the young James T Kirk, and Spock, and will tell the story of their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and their first space mission.

Abrams directed Mission Impossible 3 and is the co-creator and executive producer of ABC’s Lost. He has been developing the Star Trek movie through his Bad Robot production company.
