One of Frances greatest literary figures and one of Frances most popular biographers Henri Troyat has died at the age of 95. Troyat has penned more than one hundred works, mainly biographies and novels.
He had huge success with his biographies, which were widely translated, and included the likes of Chekov, Catherine the Great, and Tolstoy.
Troyat was born on November 1st 1911 in Moscow, but grew up in France after the Russian revolution. He never returned to Russia, but continually wrote about his birth country.
