Meet the Robinsons

New 3D animation movie Meet the Robinsons opens 30th March on more than 600 specially altered screens. Meet the Robinsons is directed by Stephen Anderson, who says the movie makes sly references to the classic TV series Lost in Space.

Meet the Robinsons follows an orphan genius called Lewis, Lewis goes off to find his birth family and comes across Wilbur Robinson who is a stranger from the future, Wilbur then whisks Lewis off in his time machine.

Wilbur Robinson is only one of the sly references to Lost In Space, as one of the main characters in that show was called Will Robinson.

Anderson said this, “Oh, sure, the character of Wilbur Robinson may invoke a memory of that Robinsons in space. It is about any family that may be out there, and it also references The Swiss Family Robinson, too. It’s an homage of mine to all those things.”

Voices to Meet the Robinsons are supplied by Tom Selleck, Angela Bassett, Adam West, Laurie Metcalf, Tom Kenny and Ethan Sandler.
