Nominees announced for Prometheus awards

This year’s Prometheus award nominees have been announced, the Prometheus awards recognise novels that explore human rights, personal freedom, and libertarian ideals. The winner is to be announced at the 65 th World Science Fiction Convention in Yokohama on the 30th September.

Nominees are:
The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi.
Harbingers by F. Paul Wilson.
Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge.
Empire by Orson Scott Card.
Glasshouse by Charles Stross.

Finalists for the Prometheus Hall of Fame Best Classic Fiction were also announced.

Nominees are:
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
“As Easy as A.B.C.” by Rudyard Kipling.
Animal Farm by George Orwell.
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.
“True Names” by Vernor Vinge.
It Can’t Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis.
