Dr Who beats Potter

A staggering 8.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the new series of Dr Who last weekend beating the 4.7 million viewers of Harry Potter. The BBC1 show stars David Tennant and Freema Agyeman as the Dr and his assistant who meet up with the Daleks and Shakespeare in the new series.

Freema 28 who replaces Billy Piper stated that she was “very excited” and “confident in the work they have done.” She has also appeared in Prime Suspect, The bill and Casualty and a minor part in a previous Dr Who.

Dr Who will return for another series in 2008 but we will have to wait and see if David Tennant will again return as the eternal time lord, he has been voted by fans as the best ever Dr Who beating Tom Baker (1974-1981) into second position.
