80s Leap for “Life on Mars”

Hit TV series Life on Mars has been shot into the 80s with a sequel to the 70s series that ended this week. The new 80s show Ashes to Ashes will be filmed during the summer and is due to be screened on BBC1 next year.

Actor Philip Glenister who played DCI Gene Hunt in the original series will find himself with a new female detective, dragged back to the past after being injured in an accident. She is replacing Actor John Simm who played Detective Sam Tyler. The setting for the new series will be London 1981.
