Smallville actor Eric Johnson has landed the role of Flash Gordon in SCI FI Channel’s 22-hour series, which is due for an August premiere. The first two episodes have been written by Peter Hume, and will be directed by Smallville’s Rick Rosenthal. Production will begin in May in Vancouver.
Under an agreement with franchise owner King Features Syndicate, Flash will be produced by Reunion Pictures. The original Flash Gordon was created by Alex 1934.
