Elijah Wood to produce movie for first time

Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood is putting on producer shoes to work on an adaptation of novel Black Wings Has My Angel. The novel tells the story of an ex-convict who pulls off an armed robbery with the help of a call girl.

Elijah will not take an acting role in the movie, but has said he is excited at bringing this lost classic back to life.

Wood spoke to the Hollywood reporter about why he’s trying producing. “It’s the material. I’ve always been intrigued by noir novels and noir films. I love that style. And to unearth something from that era that hasn’t been made into a film or is not a remake is really exciting. It’s a lost classic.”
