96 years old film and theatre actress Kitty Carlisle Hart passed away at her apartment in Manhattan after battling pneumonia. Kitty’s first film roles were with Bing Crosby in She Loves Me Not (1934) and with the Marx Brothers in A Night at the Opera (1935).
Kitty’s son Christopher said: “She had such a wonderful life and a great long run. It was a blessing.”
During the 50’s and 60’s Kitty became a familiar face on the US TV game show To Tell The Truth, and Kitty once said of her television fame: “They don’t even remember me from A Night at the Opera. They have no idea that I played the lead and did all the singing. But they do remember television, particularly To Tell the Truth.”
