After more than 2,500 performances, the Broadway show based on Mel Brooks movie The Producers has closed. After the final matinee performance at the St James Theatre in New York, Mel Brooks took to the stage and addressed the audience.
He said: “We have had six years of frolic and joy, and you have been such good audience to give us such a rich, final performance.”
The St James Theatre is now expected to host Mel’s next production, Young Frankenstein, based on his movie of the same name.
