
A TV movie is to be filmed about MP and Hunger striker Bobby Sands. The film, which is scheduled to be screened next year, follows the last weeks of the prisoner’s life.
Sands, who was sentenced to fourteen years imprisonment in 1977, started his hunger strike in March 1981 and died of starvation after 66 days in the Maze prison. Nine more IRA prisoners who joined the hunger strike followed Sands to their deaths.
