Looks like Channel 4 are in trouble yet again, this time by airing Virgin School, a program that follow a 26 year old guy who wants to lose his virginity, so joins a sex school in Amsterdam. In the show, views saw 26 year old James lose his virginity to sex therapist Bridget, whom James said he saw more as a friend; viewers also saw James being masturbated.
However, media pressure group Mediawatch UK had now branded the show juvenile and offensive, and the pressure group’s director John Beyer said, “It beggars belief. It’s yet another example of them trying to attract viewers with a programme about sex. It is really time that Channel 4 grew up. They are so caught up in their own importance that they really can’t see beyond their own quest for sensationalism and controversy.”
In response a Channel 4 spokesperson answered, “Virgin School is a sensitive documentary that follows one young man’s effort to overcome a major obstacle in his life. The programme focuses on his emotional journey and his growing confidence with women, not the final result.”
The next show to be shown in the series is called Make Me A Virgin, and is followed by Desperate Virgins.
