It was inevitable that the 30 years of Star Wars was going to be a big event, and 25,000 fans at the 30th anniversary convention proved just that. It seems an age ago when George Lucas first showed us his tales of an intergaltic battle between good and evil, way back in 1977.
Star Wars a New Hope, was only showed in 32 cinemas in the US, but that was enough for it to cause worldwide popularity that has gave us 6 movies, cartoons, comics, books, games toys and much more and has given us the most evil villain Darth Vader. When you include the whole Star Wars franchise, it adds up to billions of dollars.
Fans at this birthday convention dressed in their favourite characters had the chance to celebrate by, being trained as a Jedi, learn how to belly dance like Princess Leia had to for the fat and evil slug like Jabba the Hutt from Return of the Jedi.
The convention goes on for 5 days
