The MTV Movie Awards proved to be a great night for both Johnny Depp and Sacha Baron Cohen, as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest was named best movie while Depp won best performance for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. Cohen received two awards one for MTV Generation Award and the other was the best-kiss honours when he kissed Will Ferrell in “Talladega Nights.
Other winners on the night were:
• Mike Myers, who won the MTV Generation Award
• Jack Nicholson received the Golden Popcorn trophy, for his part in the movie The Departed
• Gerard Butler won the prize fight in epic movie 300
• Breakthrough Performance went to Jaden Smith for his role in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness
