Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares has been a great hit in the UK, and is due to debut in the States in September; however, a former restaurant manager is suing celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay to stop the show from reaching the screens.
Apparently a lawsuit filed with the District Court in Manhattan states that not all those who were targeted by Ramsay came away happy with the experience. The former manager of Dillons Martin Hyde: an Indian Restaurant wants to block the show saying exaggerations about the restaurant’s condition will destroy the good name and reputation of those who work there.
Gordon Ramsay shot Kitchen Nightmares at Dillons in April where Ramsay saw to Hyde’s dismissal. Hyde says Ramsay lied about rotten meat, and hired actors so it would appear Dillons had become more popular since Ramsay’s intervention. Hyde states he was blamed for the way the kitchen was run even though as manager he had no say in the running of the kitchen.
The owner of Dillons, Muhammad Islam refused to comment on the lawsuit but says the restaurant has improved since Ramsay’s visit. A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay says the celebrity chef has as yet not reviewed the lawsuit.
