
It has been announced that Madonna is to headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend music festival at Maidstone’s Mote Park on May 10th. Also Robyn and Duffy will also be perform that day, with The Hoosiers, The Feeling and Usher playing sets as well.
Over the two day event and over four stages, more than 30,000 music fans will enjoy over 50 UK and international artists alongside DJs including a rare UK performance from US star Nelly.
Registration for the 30,000 ticket event is now open but tickets are limited to two per person. Registration for tickets is open until 10am, Monday April 28 at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
It’s said that thousands of people have already registered for tickets for the event and by Tuesday morning, more than 200,000 people had registered online.
Throughout the weekend, Radio 1 DJs including Chris Moyles, Vernon Kay, Pete Tong, Tim Westwood and Judge Jules will be introducing the bands on stage and interacting with listeners online and broadcasting live from the event.
Radio 1’s Big Weekend will be broadcast on Radio 1 and you will be able to watch the event on BBC3 with five hours of coverage from the event.
