Mariah Carey says Leona Lewis will never be me

Mariah Carey has said that there was no Similarity between Leona’s music and her own. Mariah said that there will never be a “new” Mariah.she is right there because she is Mariah but one thing she can not say is that there will never be anyone as good as her. could it be that she is worried that Leona will take over?
Mariah said that “Honestly, there has been so many, ‘This is the new her,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, show me the new her. Can she come and work for me and be my double? And I’m not particular talking about this girl Leona, because I only heard her once and I didn’t really hear a true similarity, particularly in the style of music. It is what it is and critics have compared me to so many people who are not really singers, and they’re certainly not writers.”
Mariah said that she has nothing to fear from emerging stars like Leona Lewis. I think that she has forgotten that Leona Lewis has hit the Number one spot in America last week. What do you think is Leona Lewis the new twentieth century Mariah?
In other news Leona Lewis is said to be hiring Mariah Carey’s personal trainer to work with her to make it big in the US. i wonder how Mariah feels about this.
A source said that “Lewis has done brilliantly in the US. But some of her team think she needs to be a bit sexier if she wants to have the longevity of female artists like Carey, Janet Jackson or Madonna. They think that having Lewis train with Patricia would be a treat for her because she adores Carey. She will go to Patricia’s base in the Caribbean for some intensive sessions and then Patricia will visit her regularly to continue the project.”
Could it be the case that Leona is trying to become Mariah Carey?

I do not think Leona is trying to be the “New Mariah”! Mariah is an exceptional artist, I am a fan of hers and no-one could be the new Mariah. Leona is distinctive in her own way, I love the fact shes so modest and unassuming and if anything, i find when Leona sings, her voice is effortless and it seems so much more natural than Mariah’s. Especially lately, Mariah seems to struggle, her live performances certainly aren’t what they used to be! Love them both, but they are different in their style!
MARIAH IS GOOD, LEONA JUST BETTER…..THERES NO WAY IN HELL THAT GIRL WANTS TO BE HER…SHES GOT HER OWN UNIQUE STYLE THAT EVERY ONE LONG FOR.. WHY MAKE A COMMENT LIKE THAT…I THINK IT’S IMMATURE, YOU AS A SINGER SHOULD FEEL HONOURED IF ANY NEW COMER OR SOMEONE TRYING OUT FOR ANY COMPETITION FOR THAT MATTER, SING YOUR SONG WITH SO MUCH FEELING AND GRACE….SHE DIDNT MESS UP ANY OF THE STARS SONGS SHE ACTUALLY SANG….LEONA ROCKS!!!!

I think so..that mariah carey is not has a similarity wid leona..im a fan of mariah carey but im now a lil bit interesting wid leona’s voice and i think there is nothing same between the both artist…

Wow people who say leona lewis is better…..are you stupid? Mariah carey is a legend and her voice is one of a kind. Leona lewis will never be mariah or even half as good as her. Mariah even now can outsing most of the singers out there. Mariah is number 1 Leona is just like 3rd runner up.
Personally I do think that Leona does sound so much like Mariah, But they can never be eachother. Mariah is the bom. I love her music. I am devoted to her as an artist. Now Leona, she is a good artist, and I will listen her as well. I have them back to back on a CD. Voices like that dont come every decade as you all know. There are special techniques to hold the top possition for years on end. Leona has not done that as of yet. She may just get there.
Now on a real real personal side I think they should do a song together So they can show the world that there is no fight no arguements, music loving woman that can entertain the world over and over again. Both these woman rock my world when I am doing my studies. I would love to see them perform together. Mariah has performed with many many wonderful singers, Why not Leona? She should not feel that Leona is trying to take her place. Society can really rott sometimes. These 2 woman need each other whether they think so or not. You watch in time to come, they will be singing a song together. And it is going to be great better than any duet ever. They can both shine.

Let’s be realistic here. Mariah Carey is simply put the greatest Recording artist of All times. Factor in her sales, her credits (producing and writing), the range of her voice, the number of styless in which she sings, the artists (including Leona) who emulate her, and the sheer range of her voice. Whatever you think about her current singing would easily be dispelled by her performances on American Idol, X Factor and the American Music Awards. Leona is an admirer of Mariah Carey and there is nothing wrong with that. The way you say she sounds more “natural” is an opinion and it’s an opinion that is not musically based. All this negativity is most likely based on the fact that she decided to take her music in her hands, and create really fun upbeat songs. We’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t LOVE at least one Mariah Carey song, which is a testament to her worldwide appeal.
