Last night on American Idol the final 6 were put through their paces by Andrew Lloyd Webber when he gave them Broadway songs to sing.
First up was Syesha Mercado and she sung “One Rock N’ Roll Too Many.” Judge Randy said that she found her element. Paula thinks she brought the house down, and Simon found it very sexy. They all say it’s her strongest performance, but she’s still said to be the weakest of them all but what did you think?
Jason Castro was up next and he said that he has never seen any of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s musicals before. Jason sung “Memory,” which he didn’t even know was from Cats. Judge Randy called it a train wreck. Paula said that it’s hard for a guy to do that song and Simon compared Jason to a kid forced to sing the song at a wedding. But what did you think?
Up next was Brooke White and she sung “You Must Love Me,” which Andrew wrote for the movie version of Evita. Judge Randy said that some parts were OK. Paula was speechless and criticizes the start/stop, but likes the emotion and Simon told Brooke she’ll be disappointed when she watches it back. She admits that she forgot the words in the beginning, and Simon says it was brave for her to restart the song. Could this be her last week?
David Archuleta was next he sung a song from Phantom Of The Opera that was originally sung in the show by the female lead. David did not sing the Broadway version of this song instead he made this into a ballady-radio-friendly love song.
Judge Randy said it was “the bomb,” Paula said it was perfect, and Simon said it was one of his weakest performances. Do you think that David deserves to win American Idol?
Next up was Carly Smithson she sung “All I Ask Of You,” and she turned it into a pop song. Judge Randy said that it was not her best, but it was cool. Paula likes that it was unexpected, and Simon excuses her screaming and says he enjoyed it. What did you think?
And last up was David Cook he sung “Music Of The Night,” Randy called it “molten hot,” and Simon thinks he did the best with it. What did you think?
So who are your bottom two this week and who will go?
Check back tomorrow to see who is in the final 5

I just can’t believe that Brooke White made it through again. I guess she has her mormon membership to thank. She should have been gone weeks ago.
