Oh yes that is right Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street has found its way to Blu-ray and will be ready for release on the 19th May. This movie is based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd as well as the hit musical that hit Broadway with lyrics from the great Stephen Sondheim. In this movie Johnny Depp sings his way through the movie playing the barber Benjamin Barker who wants to seek his revenge for what had happened to his wife and his daughter.
Todd wants to get rid of all the people that have ever done him wrong in his life and enlists the help of Mrs. Lovett played by the superb Helena Bonham Carter. Together the couple supply and sell the worst pies in London, as they contain the human remains of all those people who did Todd wrong.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street sees both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton reunite once again for this movie. With Burton and Depp you know that you will get to see the pair at their best as the two seem to get on so well together. As with all Tim Burton films Sweeny Todd is very dark and with singing adding into the mix the movie has to be one of Burton’s strangest, and yes you guessed it you will get to hear Johnny Depp sing.
The movie has a host of stars from Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall, Anthony Head and the great Christopher Lee.
