Yesterday an exhibition of Pete Doherty’s bloody paintings launched at the Chappe Gallery in Paris but with the absence of himself because he is currently serving time in jail for breaching his probation terms. The exhibition runs until the 11th May.
The controversial exhibition contains 30 paintings by Pete were he used his own blood as well as the more traditional art instruments of pencils and paintbrushes to create them. It’s said that he has been using his own blood to create art for several years.

Among his pieces of art included illustrations of Kate Moss. One pencil and blood image of Kate, entitled ‘Miss Moss reclines’, shows her topless lying on a sofa. Not all of Pete’s art work involves human material; one piece uses a photograph of the topless singer drinking which is covered with ink scrawls of mysterious initials.
In other news Former band mates Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are reuniting to create a new musical. They went there separate ways when Pete was sacked from the band in 2003.
Now performing in different bands, they are reteaming to create the music for a new London show at the Donmar Warehouse theatre.
Carl said that “The theatre wants lots of new songs. We’ll probably have to write about 20. But first we have to sit down and think about the rock ‘n’ roll story“.
