Miley Cyrus has apologised to all her fans for posing topless in a forthcoming issue of the Vanity Fair magazine. Miley said that the photos by Annie Leibovitz, had not turned out how she expected.
Miley said that “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about.”
A Vanity Fair representative said that “Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.”
This issue of Vanity Fair goes on sale in the UK this Friday but if you go to their website you can see all the photos and read the interview.
Miley came to fame as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel’s TV show which is about a girl who leads a double life as a teenager and singing sensation. Hannah Montana currently ranks first among TV series of U.S. cable television for children aged 6 to 14. So you can understand why these photos have caused such a stir.
What do you make of all this?

People need to leave this child alone. Does anyone not see that she is not topless. She has a sheet that covers more that half the shirts in the stores. I would be more concern that my daughter would want to be as skinny as her. This is not a good photo not because she has not shirt but because it shows how skinny she is.

a pattern seems to be unfolding…miley takes racey pictures at a friends house that gets plastered on the internet, and she says its harmless fun. miley takes pictures of herself in a bathtub with some friends, and the friends get the blame for leaking the pictures. miley takes scandalous pictures of herself in her underwear and again she claims it was leaked by someone else. miley takes MORE pictures of herself in her underwear and with a boy in ..more-than-platonic poses, and he gets the blame. miley takes topless pictures with an established magazine and then the magazine gets the blame?
i think this girl is making too many apologies. she can’t possibly be that naive. time to realize whats really going on america. you may be famous, miss miley, but even famous people wear shirts.

I think the photographer was trying to market Miley, but I also feel Miley should have felt it wasn’t right and declined the sheet shot. Being an intelligent fifteen year old, all she had to do was just say “no”! then she would have nothing to apologize for.

“Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.” -Annie Leibovitz
Isn’t one of the classic ways a pedophile ensnares a child by showing them other pictures of pornography as a means of suggesting to the child that what they are going to do is acceptable?

I’m 15 almost 16, and i think those photo’s were not the type of photo’s that a 15 old girl should be taking. why does she have to show her back
off ,everone is like she’s not topless but what is that pic saying. i’m not a
fan of her’s but i don’t hate her, but she needs to be more careful about
the way she’s show’s off her body.
