Miley Cyrus posed topless for Vanity Fair magazine

Miley Cyrus posed topless for Vanity Fair magazine
Miley Cyrus who is best known as Hannah Montana has posed topless for Vanity Fair magazine. Apparently a TV show called Entertainment Tonight released a provocative picture of Miley who is just 15 during a broadcast on Friday and as you can imagine this has caused quite a stir.

The Vanity Fair cover shot comes barely a week after pictures of Miley wearing a green bra were leaked online.

In a statement in the People Miley said that “My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honoured and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.”

A source close to Miley said that she was clothed but shown by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in such a way that that she appears to be topless.

In Disney’s official statement they said that “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.” You can read more here

  2. Amber says:

She is not showing anything, so it isn’t a big deal. Everyone has a sexy side to them. Leave her alone and let her and her father handle her life.

  3. Kelly says:

Shame on Vanity Fair for even putting this in their magazine. She is only 15 and never should of had a topless photo shoot to begin with. Someone has to have thought this was a bad idea for a 15 year old.

  4. sibusisiwe says:

sorry Miley but I have to agree with kelly why did you have a photoshoot with out a top .I am trying to believe you but you are only 15 and you are give yourself a bad name so next time think twise before you do something like that .

  7. Tan says:

I feel that the innocence of a child should remain that way. I mean she is 15. This is borderline child porn. Whats the difference from this so called artistic expression and the ones posted on U Tube. Now,she is being compared to Britney and Modonna who are talented and rich Marlynne replica whores who have faced some of her same mental break downs. No offense but what’s artistic about that.

  8. Charlotte says:

she just wants to be notised

  9. suzzie says:

  11. kaye s says:

It’s sad that this talented young girl doesn’t have mature educated parents looking out for her. It’s difficult to believe that they didn’t see any harm in a photo of this nature being taken of a fifteen year old “child”. It smacks of child porn! The parents and the photographer say it was for the artistic value … it only appears artistic to adult perverts. To normal adults it looks like a child is being sexually exploited for monetary gain. Where are “child protective services” when you need them? The photographer obviously has no moral compass … she took advantage of a young girl who obviously doesn’t have any mature people looking out for her.

  12. N. Fetty says:

Give the girl a break. She is a very talented young lady. I love her HM Show on Disney. It is a great show for young girls to watch. It is a good, clean show that the girls love. Everyone makes mistakes. I hope that she stays just the way that she is and doesn’t grow up too soon. I’m sure it’s tough being famous.

  13. christy says:

Miley you are too young for these types of pictures and for even wanting to work for vanity fair. you belong in magazines geared for teens….don’t rush into growing up…..you will get there eventually…..enjoy your teens!!!!

  14. concerned mother says:

well, well, well, another one of those girls who just think they dont get enough attention, so they take of their top to make everyone notice her. it is all for the fame and the money. miley cyrus is soooo obsessed with herself that she’s even willing to go topless to attract more attention. what has the world come to? how are we suppose to tell our children why their favorite disney channel stars suddenly can’t be their favorite? Diseny channel was pretty much the only channel i’d let be watched. but now i cant even trust that channel. it’s very disappointing.

  15. LEIBOVITZ AND THE HANNA MONTANA TEARDOWN

Adult market magazines using kids in provocative poses? Is that ONLY inappropriate behavior?

    http://pacificgatepost.blogspot.com/2008/04/leibovitz-and-hanna-montana-teardown.html

Adult executives know better. They just don’t seem to DO better.

There is nothing innocent about an adult magazine portraying a 15 year old pretending to be naked, hair tousled, wrapped in a bed sheet.

Leave the girl alone… The kids love her… yall grown azzez r just jealous because she is rich and u r not…..HATERS

  20. Sweetpea says:

Miley is certianly being sexually exploited for monitary gain. She is too young to make responsible decisions, her parents should be slamming their foot down with NO! Miley is under the legal age of 18 and NOTHING should be done, including photo shots, UNLESS one or both of her PARENTS are PRESENT to make responsible decisions in the best of Miley’s interest.

I was under the impression that child porn was against the law, that shoot looks to me like boarderline child porn–I guess boarderline is OK according to Vanity Fair magazine photographer Annie Leibovitz, as long as people are making phat money off of Miley, nothing else matters–guess they are priming her for the skin mags when she turns 18. Obviously sex sells and adult men, and even women are buying. I think her parents should be held responsible for allowing their daughter to even speak to a respresentative for Vanity Fair magazine–that magazine is geared toward adult men, not families. Vanity fair is selling a topless, just got laid hair, covered by a bed sheet 15 year old girl to adult men–how sick, perverted, and illegal that all sounds.

American people have to stop sexualizing America’s kids. Stronger laws need to be passed and strictly enforced by officials. If you make a crime extremely undersirable by making the punishment extremely undesireable people will think twice before doing it. It should be a crime to sexually exploit children and the law has to implement an extremely undesireable punishment and enforce it to its fullest to send a message that it is NOT OK to sexually exploit a child to become wealthy.

Crack down hard on the sex industry, internet porn, clean up basic expanded cable channels and the radio and maybe our society can and will turn around from the perverse society that is currently emerging. I am sicken by it all and so should all other God loving, law abiding, respectable citizens.

Shame on Miley’s parents for not protecting her from these predators!

    it is just weird!
