Last night on American Idol the top 5 sung songs from Neil Diamond.
Normally, each contestant receives feedback on their performance as soon as they’ve finished their song.
But this week the judges were asked to hold their comments until the contestants had each performed their first of two songs.
Jason Castro performs an acoustic guitar performance of “Forever in Blue Jeans.”
David Cook performed “I’m Alive,”
Brooke White performed “I’m a Believer” for her first song.
David Archuleta performed “Sweet Caroline“.
Syesha Mercado performed “Hello Again.”
After the first set of songs the five contestants were then brought out on stage together to hear what the judges had to say.
Judge Randy said that Jason was ok, Brooke was Karaoke, David was the bomb and Syesha was in the zone.
Simon sums it all up he said “Jason, forgettable, David Cook, just above average, Brooke, a nightmare, David Archuleta, amateurish, Syesha, I thought it was old-fashioned.”
In the second half Jason starts of by singing “September Morn,” David Cook performs “All I Really Need is You.” Brooke sings “I Am, I Said”, David Archuleta sung “America.” And Syehsa closes the show with “Thank the Lord for the Nighttime.”
