For those Jim Carrey fans out there here we have the first pictures from his new movie I Love You Phillip Morris which is based on a true story, the novel was written by Steve McVicker. Carrey plays Russell who is a criminal who falls in love with his cell mate Phillip Morris, who is played by Ewan McGregor. Morris is released from prison and that is when the fun begins as Russell attempts a number of ways to try and escape from prison so that he can once again be reunited with his one true love.
To give you an idea of what the film will be like I Love You Phillip Morris was pitched as Catch Me if You Can meets Brokeback Mountain.” Morris was known as a jailhouse Houdini and managed to escape a number of times. One time all he did was wave a walkie-talkie to a guard and was buzzed out however; it gets much better than that.
It is said that Russell will be walking free today but he has one flaw, and that is his love for his old cell mate. As you would expect Jim Carrey plays the part perfectly and does what he does best, and manages to get a laugh from the simplest of things.
