Paula Abdul Forgets on American Idol
American Idol judge Paula Abdul has left people wondering if she is ok after she gave Jason Castro feedback on his two songs even though he had only performed one.

When it was Paula’s turn to give her comments about Jason Castro, Paula referred to having heard “two songs” from him until Randy pointed out that he had only sung the one song.

After realising her mistake Paula said: “Oh my god, I thought you sang twice!”

Paula said that said she was confused by her notes because the judging was changed last minute. Surly if she was paying attention to the show she would have realised that he had only sung once.

The remaining five contestants in the show then all performed their second song for the Neil Diamond-themed night. And when it came to the judges giving their comments for the second time Paula was more on the ball.

Paula’s mistake has prompted fans to speculate on the shows message boards if the show was scripted or fixed.

A spokesman for the Fox TV channel declined to comment on these events.

What do you make of all this could the show have been fixed to bring the ratings up of do you think that Paula just made a mistake?

  2. how out of it does a person have to be to think a performer had performed twice when it was only once?!!! its a sad commentary on just how loopy paula is. she needs to lay off the booze, meds or whatever its is that is spacing her out while she is on air. its embarrasing to her, her co-hosts and the music industry in general.

  5. I watched American Idol last night for the first time this season. I think Paula Abdul should be fired. What did that say to the 5 contestants when one of the judges doesn’t even know that one song has been sung and not two!! And she even had comments about the song she never heard!! Shameful.

  6. Paula should get the boot, she is there to judge the contestants and not be in a daze.
How can the contestants trust her comments as a judge ?

  8. Paula, thank you for all the support you give to the contestants. You are amazing in that way. The time Brooke forgot the lyrics…do you remember your reaction? I think God has a way of putting us where we judge, to learn. I do think you have unbelievable support by the two guys. They love you so much and their treatment is an example for all of us to follow. That is what you hold on to… their love and their grand friendship. Let go of all the lies and nonsense talk. Give those two a hug from me!!! I love all three of you!!!

  10. Hey…the show is great entertainment. Paula and all the judges bring their individual style. Under the bright lights and hype she might “forget” …she has such an active mind and bubbly personality…she was just ahead of herself. And it was entertaining…and real…the fact that she recovered herself quickly. Go Paula. We love you!

  11. Paula is only human and we all amke mistakes. Let’s not forget that these judges have probably sat through the rehersals all day so they have already heard the performances before us, it’s no wonder that she slipped up. I’d like to see any of you do it better!! Give her a break!

  12. Debbie is right. Although the show goes live…the judges would have sat through rehersals. Songs sung before and the judges take note.
On show night, they are in the proverbial limelight. It is brave to go live on air. The slip-ups can’t be cut and no one can unsay , rewind , or cut anything. Unlike a taped show …Idol is reality.
To make an error is human. To admit it…is divine. That makes paula an Angel. Why is it necessary to watch people and slam them? Why can’t one just watch a show. Without this urban desire to ruin reputations and credibility? I can only think it is jealousy….that paula is a highly successful woman in the entertainment industry. She didn’t get there by any means except her own self. How much/what she does is her business. the only fact I know is that she drinks coka Cola. I have seen her do this on the show. The rest is a guess. And negative guesses and assumptions have no place. She is an entertainer. Not a representitive of anything else. Let her entertain you. And us all. if one goes down the track of slamming her…what do you gain except an empty chair on the panel. Why? What does that prove?

  13. She was probably drunk…

  14. It is my own armchair opinion that Paula has MS (Multiple Sclerosis) All of her slurring, forgetting what she’s doing, tripping etc. can all be attributed to this illness. I also understand that MS is one of her preferred charities. I hope she can someday feel comfortable and ready to go public with her illness only because she can possibly make a difference to help raise public awareness about this disease. P.S. I don’t have MS but I do have Lou Gehrig’s disease which can share similarities in some symptoms at first so I can sympathize with what she may gong through. I actually thought I had MS before my diagnosis.
