American Idol judge Paula Abdul has tried to explain her blunder that she had on the latest live American Idol show. During the show that judges normally wait until they have heard both performances from each contestant before making their comments but this week they were asked to comment on the contestants after they had heard them all sing their first song.
It’s said that Paula looked very confused when asked for her opinion on the performances she had seen. She commented on Jason Castro’s second song even though he had not even performed it yet.
It’s reported that some fans have even claimed that the judge’s comments were scripted in advance of the performances.
After the show Paula joined Ryan Seacrest on his radio show to explain her mistake, she said that she was confused by the change of format. Paula claimed that she got “lost on (her) notes” during the show.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz who is the shows Producer said that “The judges occasionally watch the rehearsals, which they’ve acknowledged before in various press interviews, as well as on-air during the broadcast. While this gives them an idea of what the contestants are going to perform that night, it does not influence their comments for the actual broadcast performance. Paula’s comments were based on her acknowledgment that she had seen a small portion of the rehearsal. The judges do not use ‘rehearsal notes”.

It is so obvious, she was reading from scripted notes given to her. How can you comment on a second performance that has not been yet. They can spin as much as you want, they were trying to throw Jason under the bus, and notes were written for her on what to say
