A few weeks back Leona Lewis was at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 but was knocked of the top spot by Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop However; the X Factor winner is now back at No.1 and this is thanks to American Idol. Leona performed her song on last weeks episode of American Idol which then saw a rush in digital downloads.
It is not all bad for previous number one song Lollipop as it has made it to the top spot in the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs; this has become the first rap song to make it to No.1 since October 2006 with Ludacris’ “Money Maker.
Back to the Billboard Hot 100 Jordin Sparks’ featuring Chris Brown with No Air is at No.3 while Madonna’s “4 Minutes which features Justin Timberlake is at No.4, the song was previously at No.6 but with the release of her new album Hard Candy the song moved up two spots. Usher’s “Love in This Club is now at No.5 and Ray J & Yung Berg with Sexy Can I have moved up one spot to No.6.
Leona Lewis’s career seems to be going from strength to strength and has to be the biggest star to come from X Factor. Does she have what it takes to become on of the UK’s biggest singing stars in America? Some are already comparing her to Mariah Carey; this can only help her career.
