Iron Man reviews make it top movie in 2008, sequel 2010

If we were asked a few years back how well an Iron Man movie would do, we would have just laughed as this was never the biggest franchise from Marvel. So here we are in 2008 and we are looking at a film that could become the best movie review of 2008, and there have been some great movies already so early on in the year. The guys over at Rotten Tomatoes have given the Iron Man a 96% fresh rating from 117 reviews.

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment have taken a big risk with releasing a big blockbuster so early on in the year, but with rave reviews it seems as if the risk might have paid off.

Studio bosses must know something we don’t, as rumors are now coming in that Iron Man 2 has already been given the green light. If reports are correct the sequel will also be released in the same week as the first movie in 2010. This is the same week that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is also penciled in for. However; if studio bosses get clever they might just release Iron Man 2 a week earlier.

One thing is certain, Iron Man looks as though it has just re-launched Robert Downey Jr. career.
