As with many Sci-fi programs on TV they have all covered a parallel universe or a what if, so it was about time Smallville did the same. The Apocalypse episode covered the story as to what things would be like if the main characters had a different set of circumstances to go through. I think it is strange how come the writers of the show have not done this a little sooner.
In Smallville Apocalypse Clark is shown a series of events by his dead father Jonathan what life would have been like if his ship had never landed on earth. We first see that Lana Lang is happily married and has children, and his close friend Chloe is engaged to be married. Things then start to get strange as we find that Lex Luthor is now the President of the United States and is about to launch an all out thermonuclear war with both Kara and Brainiac by his side.
We also learn that the Kryptonians had time-travel technology, and that is when we ask the question “why didn’t they go back in time and stop their planet from exploding.” However; this question was answered by Clark later in the episode.

He is shown the events by Jor-El his bio father, not Jonathan his earthly father.
Spoiler Alert!

Loved the ep, but wonder how a guy who is faster then a speeding bullet gets shot twice, and Kara with the same super speed takes one as well. I wish Lex would have turned on a green krypto beam of light and THEN shot them.
Also during the battle with Brainiac Clark pauses to make goo goo eyes with himself as a baby. Why not have him do that as he is running to get the baby mini-me to the ship. Just to keep a sense of urgency.
Kara lifts heavy object to smash brainiac, does she or doesn’t she have super powers at this point, only the writers know for sure. Maybe even they aren’t sure either.
