The Happening which is the new movie from M. Night Shyamalan has now been given a new television spot, and was aired during LOST. However; this TV spot was just an abbreviated version of the new movie trailer which you can see when you go to the cinema to watch Iron Man as well as Made of Honor.
When director Shyamalan was asked about the movie he says it is “a 90-minute paranoia movie.” The director told LA Times that The Happening was inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers which was filmed way back in 1956.
The Happening stars both Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel who are a couple that have to go on the run after an apocalyptic crisis. Wahlberg plays a school science teacher and Deschanel is his estranged wife who has to fight in order to stay alive. The couple also has to protect their child and John Leguizamo plays the couple’s best friend.
With all movies they have an underlining message and The Happening’s one is that if Mankind continues to be unkind to nature, then nature will find a way to fight back. The movie starts of strong and has some truly horrific scenes, but once these pass the movie then losses its edge and becomes too overpaced, which makes it hard to keep up.
