Big Brother presenter Davina McCall quits show to launch acting career

The presenter of Big Brother in the UK Davina McCall has decided to quit the Channel 4 show as she looks to pursue a serious acting career. McCall who seems to bring a little quirkiness to the show has been presenting BB from the start which was back in 2000; she aims to re-invent herself once Big Brother 9 comes to an end this year.

It seems that Davina is having a fresh start with her career as she has now parted company with her previous management so that she can start on her acting career and wishes to star in a TV drama. McCall will now use the services of Michael Foster who has managed to transform Billie Piper’s career from the once fun pop girl to the now more serious actress.

A source who is close to the BB presenter has said “She has finally realised the time is right to move on,” they also added “After doing so many series of Big Brother, she’s become seriously bored.”

Just recently Channel 4 bosses did not give Davina any other work outside of Big Brother; they also think that the best of her presenting career is now over. Let us hope that Davina McCall has a better go at acting than her previous attempt with ITV sitcom Sam’s Game which aired in 2001.

A Channel 4 spokesperson has said “Davina has had to make some very hard choices. There is an understanding at Big Brother that it’s very unlikely she’ll be back”. It seems to me that she would like to try and follow the success of another Big Brother presenter Russell Brand, who has now starred in a few movies. Not sure if Davina will be as good as Brand though.
