Nelson Mandela\'s 90th birthday: Queen, Leona Lewis, Annie Lennox
It has been announced that Leona Lewis, Queen, the Soweto Gospel Choir and Annie Lennox are just a few of the acts that will appear at a concert for Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday in June. All Proceeds from the event will go to his Aids charity.

It’s said that Nelson will travel to London for the event which is due to take place on the 27th June.
Tickets for this event go on sale this Friday. The event will be held at Hyde Park and hope that they will have a crowd of 46,664 which is said to be Mr Mandela’s old prison number.

In a statement Organisers have said that “several major artists keeping silent about their involvement in order to take both Mr Mandela and the audience by surprise

South African-based pop star Johnny Clegg is in the line up and so are a number of other African acts including Sipho Mabuse, Papa Wemb, Loyiso and Emmanuel Jal.

It has been said that anybody who registers on the 46664 website before 6pm on Tuesday will be able to buy pre-sale tickets from 9am Wednesday which is before they go on general sale 9am Friday.
