DMX (Earl Simmons) arrested for drug possession and animal abuse

A few days ago DMX was arrested for a months-old traffic violation, now the troubled rapper has been busted again, this time for suspicion of animal abuse as well as felony drug possession. This came as a result after police searched his house, however at one point DMX had a little standoff with police when he tried to shut himself in his bedroom. A SWAT team searched the rapper’s home which was part of an investigation that has been running for seven-months.

It seems as if DMX has no respect for the law as he has a long criminal history, Joe Arpaio, the Maricopa County Sheriff has said “A guy like this DMX character with all his money and fame has no excuse for not providing proper care for his animals,” said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. “He has a long criminal history and obviously has no respect for the law.”

When police entered his home, they found drugs, weapons, as well as five pit bull puppies; these puppies have now been taken to a female prison where the inmates will look after them.
DMX was later booked and charged with four counts of felony drug possession and seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. DMX’s attorney has said that the hassle at his clients’ home was unnecessary; the rapper will appear in court on May 15.

It does seem funny that DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons tried to lock himself in his room while police spent time trying to talk him out, but the standoff did not last for long, but if you had SWAT outside I am sure that you would come out quickly as well.
