Former Law & Order star Dennis Farina was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor as the ex-Chicago Police officer was caught at LAX with a loaded gun. Farina told the authorities that he had forgotten that he had the .22-caliber loaded semiautomatic pistol in his bag while trying to board a United Airlines flight. His misdemeanor was later upgraded to a felony as the gun was not registered, you would have thought that Farina who was with the Chicago police department for 19-years would have known better.
Dennis Farina seemed to be very apologetic to the arresting officers however; that still did not help the former Law & Order star who has now been booked with suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon as well as carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. The actor’s bail was set at $35,000. Later FBI officials interviewed him, but they did not prosecute him as the local police had already handled the crime.
This is not the first and will not be the last time that a celebrity has tried to board a plane with a weapon, Rapper Snoop Dogg tried to board a plane at John Wayne Airport with a collapsible baton in his luggage. David Huckabee received a one-year suspended sentence after a loaded Glock pistol was found in his bag at Little Rock, Ark Airport. Brandon Boyd who is the lead singer of Incubus was arrested at New York’s La Guardia International Airport for carrying a switchblade in his bag.
