Britney Spears is not the one for lying down and her second appearance on “How I Met Your Mother last night” the US sitcom proves this. The well known singer/celebrity may have had her ups and downs recently but you go girl, show everybody you got what it takes.
Britney Spears starred as a receptionist called Abby who has started dating Barney who is played by Neil Patrick Harris, and yes you got it, Spears was a huge hit with everyone. People have said that she was better this time round in the sitcom and many fans will just love the fact she is back, oh and because her new return answers all the mysterious set ups earlier in the series. Craig Thomas the show’s co-creator has said that the doors will always be open for Britney Spears for a third appearance.
So things are looking good and the singer is on the way to the top again, let us all hope she stays there right at the top. Please do check out the video clip below and let us know what you make of Britney making another appearance. Could this mean only but good things for the Toxic singer.
Send all your love here to Britney; you never know she might just be reading it.

To the lovely girl britney,
I’m really glad to know that you are doing alright now. I have been watching and reading news about you and I understand that you had been through alot alot over the years. You know that you still have plenty fans out that constantly supporting you although you might not know it. They’re just like the wind. You don’t see it but you know you feel it. Those videos and interviews on youtube made me cried and i strongly believe that god is there for you girl. He will take care of you, shower you with infinite love, embrace you and yes now he showed you the way. Keep on going girl. Be strong although it’s not simple but you have us behind your back. Always have faith and believe in yourself.
Lots and lots and lots of love,

She was absolutely atrocious. For the HIMYM fans that have watched the show from it’s inception, she is by far ruining the show. HIMYM is renowned for it’s polished and tight script-writing, heavily relying on situational comedy. With Britney in the equation, the entire formula of the shown is thrown off.
Her first performance was better than the second one, when she was an accessory and not an integral plot-device in the episodes skit.
Yeah, she needs to jump-start a career, but can’t she be like every other douche and have her own reality TV show instead of ruining a highly underrated sleeper comedy?

Terrific comic timing!
I never watched the show before, but will continue to watch if Britney returns. Abby is a great character with a lot of room to grow.

She was terrible in that show and it is a disservice to her to pretend she showed any talent for acting there. She should not try acting until her medications are stabilized, if at all. She would be better off spending her money on buying some other business to support her, maybe lending her name out to a dance studio or such, because her show biz career is over.

Dear Dee and Ben and those who know nothing about acting…
I am a professional actess, nobody famous… just a working actess.
Britney has terrific comedic timing.
Those in the industry agree. She was good.
Go comment on something you know something about.

Lynda,
I’m sorry that humour is an exclusive concept that only those in the “biz” know about. God forbid people OUTSIDE of the industry can tell what’s funny or not.
She’s not supposed to cater towards you obviously educated and well-versed scholars in the art of funny. She’s supposed to cater towards the audience. And for the fans that have been watching HIMYM for the last two to three years, she can very well be the iceberg that’s going to sink the ship if she gets casted as a regular.
Lynda, if you want real “comedic timing” (Oh, I had to Wikipedia that. Apparently I have no idea what I’m talking about. I mean, I’ve never laughed before. So the concept escapes me), watch the earlier shows of HIMYM. And maybe you’ll understand why us diehards are pissed, and why she’s cancerious to the show.
She can revive her flat-lining career elsewhere.

Lynda,
It truly is sad that the girl has mental problems, which she has likely had for years, as evidenced for one thing by her decision to put her fledgling career on hold to have babies in her early 20’s. However, just because some of “those in the industry” are being kind or perhaps are so biased by her previous successes that they are deluded into believing that Britney was good in the show, does not make her good. Perhaps if your sense of what is entertaining were more finely tuned, you might be a more famous actress. No offense intended. I’m just saying. . .you are obviously no expert.

Ben,
I am fairly well educated even though I quit college to go on the theatre circuit. I have been involved in the entertainment industry for a long time. I studied comic timing. I write with comic timing. “I know funny,” is my company motto.
As I never watched the show pre-Britney I can only repeat that the producers disagree with you. They love the ratings Britney has brought the show. Enough to bring her back because of the “buzz” that was created.
The writers strike has greatly impacted the numbers of television viewers, and the industry needs a boost to bring audiences back to the television screen. If Britney brings viewers back she will be helping the industry… the more viewers… the more jobs.
I would assume you are British since you are spelling humor with a “u,”
But the Brits love Brit.
hu•mor - noun 1. a comic, absurd, or incongruous quality causing amusement: the humor of a situation. hu•mour - British spelling.
Spell check would have caught this error.
cancerious - No results found for cancerious.
Did you mean cancerous (in dictionary) or Cancerous (in encyclopedia)?
Grammar mistakes like this are common, even in the industry.
casted - No results found for casted.
Did you mean coasted (in dictionary) or CSTD (in encyclopedia)?
Casted is not a word. I cast, I will cast, I have cast is correct.

Dee,
“Perhaps if your sense of what is entertaining were more finely tuned, you might be a more famous actress.”
“Those in the industry” know more than you do, so I can only laugh at your response.
Being famous is not what I covet. I make a living in the entertainment business. That is what is important.
Britney did a good job and probably rescued the show from being cancelled.
Perhaps if you were not a Britney hater you might be able to enjoy her capable performance.

And that’s why Neil Patrick Harris so vehemently was against Britney making a second appearance, only to turn around and say “I love Britney being on the show.” It seems like both NPH and the producers are regurgitating corporate mandates.
Heh, I always consider it a compliment when someone replies to my posts with grammar and typo corrections. It usually implies they really have nothing important to offer as rebuttal.
Just take some time when you have it, and watch a few episodes from Season 1 and 2, instead of incessantly spouting off a pseudo-CV that frankly, no one cares about. You’ll see what I mean.
How can you defend comedic integrity in a sitcom post-Britney if you have never seen the same show pre-Britney? That boggles my mind.
Comment by Ben — May 15, 2008 @ 7:23 pm
There are 3 points I would like to make.
1. I offered my rebuttal first and I do not believe I am “incessantly spouting off,” as this is the first time I have posted here.
2. You referred to me as an “obviously educated and well-versed scholar.” You seem to be making an effort to sound educated yourself, so I was just doing you a favor.
“Casted” is one of my pet peeve non-words. When I hear people in the industry say “casted,” it makes me want to scream, “Get a real job if you don’t know the proper use of the word “cast.” (I was once sent a contract with the phrase “as casted” as my role.)
3. Sitcom writing is formulaic. Set-up… punch line… set-up…. punch line… set-up…. punch line. I am defending Britney’s delivery of the lines she was given.
To be fair I will go and watch several episodes to see if Britney lowered the quality of the show.
to be cont…
