Jay-Z has spoke about all the controversy surrounding his headline slot at this years Glastonbury Festival. Noel Gallagher claimed that Jay-Z’s appearance would go against the festival’s tradition of guitar music Noel said that “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If you start to break it then people aren’t going to go. I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.”
Jay-Z has said that noel’s comments showed a lack of respect to other genres of music. He said that “We don’t play guitars, Noel, but hip-hop has put in its work like any other form of music. This headline show is just a natural progression. Rap music is still evolving. From Afrika Bambaataa DJ-ing in the Bronx and Run DMC going platinum, to Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince winning the first rap Grammy, I’m just next in the line. We have to respect each other’s genre of music and move forward.”
In other news Jay-Z is planning to throw a party for his new wife Beyoncé Knowles. It’s said that he wants to celebrate their recent marriage by hosting a glitzy bash in Cannes.
An insider said that ‘Jay-Z wants to shout out how much he loves Beyoncé and this party will be the moment he does that, They have been pretty low-key as a married couple so far but Cannes is the place they will really have a blow-out.’
the party is said to be on the 23rd May and guess such as Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow are said to be attending the event.
Do you think that Jay-Z should be the headliner?
