The Bachelor started off with 25 American women and now it was the final and it came down to just two women, so what one would Brit Matt Grant choose to propose too, Chelsea Wanstrath or Shayne Lamas. Well it seems that Lamas the 22-year-old Californian actress was the eventual winner of the show. All 25 women had to be put through their paces to see if they were worthy of their hand in marriage and it was the blonde actress who beat the lot of them.
So what kind of things was Shayne Lamas put through to be crowned the winner of The Bachelor Finale, well she had to play rugby on a muddy field as well as have a game of tennis. She was also treated to a home cooked meal by the bachelor Mr. Grant himself. Matt has been described as a “totally charming and witty English gentleman who works with millionaire businessmen.” Grant had a nick name for Lamas which is how he proposed to her saying “Monkey will you marry me.” She did reply to him saying that she would, as long as he did not look at another woman.
When our bachelor was asked to describe Shayne Lamas, he said that she showed “warmth, sincerity and generousness.” Chelsea Wanstrath who lost to Lamas has said that her rival is one of the falsest people that she has ever known.

The guy is a fool, Chelsea was a far better long term bet, Shane is too young, too dumb and too ditsy! Chelsea you were robbed and you are right! Matt good luck but you made the wrong choice!

Yay for Shane - she was the most down to earth and always looks Matt directly in the eyes. Chelsea was all over the place, and ditsy. This guy is brilliant and chose Shane for all the right reasons. Shane has a black cloud to deal with considering her celebrity parents and their marital woes, and I think she learned from those problems. I believe her and I hope for them nothing but the best. Good Luck to the Brit and his Monkey for a long, wonderful future.

When you look back at all of the clips, Shayne was always the one trying to keep the peace. She never yelled at anyone, and I don’t believe they ever had to bleep her language. She presented herself as a modest, sweet, lady. I don’t know what she did to be labeled ‘ditsy’.
She was a model of decorum and I believe Matt made the perfect decision. I’m 55 years old, from Oklahoma, and have Christian values. The fact that Chelsea slammed many of the girls, used foul language whenever she was on camera, and was reluctant to even hold hands with Matt was an indicator to me that she wasn’t for him.
If a woman cannot get on television and have a conversation with the camera without using foul language, she’s not much of a lady. Would she talk to Matt’s folks like that? If it falls out of your mouth that easily, it will come out all of the time.
Matt - you redeemed my faith in fairy tales and love. I am a romantic and you made the right decision and by calling her monkey during the proposal made me know it was right.
Hooray for love!

Very perfect choice by Matt. Shayne was a complete surprise. At first you think she is just a dumb blond, but very quickly you see that she is an incredible girl, with genuine caring and intelligence. She *is* young, but that may not matter. What will really matter is the time in their relationship when the newness wears off. That time when people aren’t all &hot* for each other in the first part of their courtship….that’s when people see the *real* parts of each other and find out whether they can relate. I hope it works out for them.

She did not play rugby. She did not eat a meal cooked by Matt.
Rumors flew early stateside she was a plant….the connection between the producer and her father, and the writers’ strike being just too timely not to dish on.
Whether or not a plant, it seemed a set up to many from the get-go.
In any event, good luck to the couple. May they beat the odds so heavily stacked against them.

You’re crazy to think Chelsea was right for him even if you believe Shayne was not. If he didn’t pick Shayne he would be better off not picking either of them. I agree with everything you said Kathy!

Yeah! So glad he picked Shayne and not Chelsea, who could never make eye contact with Matt, which drove me nuts. Shayne was the most real from the start. She never tried to be the center of attention in the beginning like everyone else. She never tried gimmicks to get Matt’s attention or tried to compete with any of the girls or slammed any of them. She never threw herself on Matt in the beginning. Instead, she gradually got to know him and genuinely started liking him. She never discussed the other girls except in a fun, joking manner. Her time with him was truly “her” time and was totally into him not anyone else, which is how it should be.
She admitted she was high maintenance and loved her accessories and wasn’t afraid to show her true self, worrying about being eliminated for that reason. However, unlike most high-maintenance gorgeous women, she is not a priss and is very athletic and able to do anything. Not too many high maintenance women can snowboard. She never created any drama, just tried to end it.
She also gave other girls on the show their time to be with Matt and never rudely interrupted the other girls one-on-one time. The only interruption she made was for 2 of the other girls to get back their time that was taken away from them from “Robin” who already had a rose, which was very sweet and completely selfless. She never appeared jealous and was more well-spoken than any of the other girls. She was very honest and forthright with Matt’s parents without trying to win them over by being too chummy.
I hope they last. They make a beautiful couple for many reasons. Cheers to them!

I watched last night’s final rose and love the ending!!! Matt and Shayne are so cute together. Take away her status of having a famous father, grandfather & grandmother and the fact that she is also an actress…Shayne seem such a sweet, down to earth girl who adores Matt. You can see it in her eyes always staring into his, her believing in fairly tales. Matt stands very mature for his age. I hope the two of them do get married and have beautiful kids ASAP!!!

Kathy and Lynn both have got it right! Shayne was the perfect match for Matt and I wish them both well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the next big bachelor wedding - That will defintely be something to see. Matt and Shayne!!! Hurrah!!!
(Why in the world would you ever think that a girl that could not even look him in the eyes or hold his hand be the perfect match - Chelsea was not the one that’s for sure.)

I’m glad that Matt chose Shayne. I do hope it works out long term. It was a real pleasure to watch them interact together. You could see very clearly that they both had a strong attraction for one another. Had Matt chose Chelsey it just would not have made sense to me considering all that was viewed throughout the show. I hope to only hear good things about this lovely couple. God Bless!
