Superbad Jonah Hill to make 21 Jump Street into movie

The latest news reporting is a remake/sequel/adaptation story call it what you may to bring 21 Jump Street to the big screen, yes that is right the popular television series being made into a movie. The Superbad actor Jonah Hill who in the picture below looks a little rough and should have a shave is in negotiations with Sony to develop a movie remake of the highly popular 1980’s television show 21 Jump Street.

No one knows if Jonah Hill will star in the movie but we do know he will work on the screenplay and serve as executive producer (Come on Jonah star in it, please). The show was about a group of young cops who went undercover in high schools and colleges; the question is “Do you think if Jonah Hill starred in the movie it would have to take the comedy approach?

The original show was titled “Jump Street Chapel” but then changed to “21 Jump Street” and was an hour long police drama TV series which was developed by Fox Television Network, the show ran for quite a while from April 12, 1987 to April 27, 1991 with a staggering 103 episodes. The main stars in the TV Drama were Johnny Depp as Officer Tom Hanson, Jr. (1987-1990), Holly Robinson as Det. Judy Hoffs, Dustin Nguyen as Officer Harry Truman Ioki (1987-1990), Peter DeLuise as Officer Doug Penhall (1987-1990), Frederic Forrest as Captain Richard Jenko (1987), Steven Williams as Captain Adam Fuller (1987-1991), Richard Grieco as Officer Dennis Booker (1988-1989), Michael DeLuise as Officer Joey Penhall (1990-1991), Sal Jenco as Sal “Blowfish” Banducci (1987-1990) and Michael Bendetti as Officer Anthony “Mac” McCann (1990-1991).

The drama also has guest appearances including Bridget Fonda, David Paymer, Sherilyn Fenn, Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn, Christina Applegate, Josh Brolin, Mindy Cohn, Jason Priestley, John Waters, Shannen Doherty, Maia Brewton, Pauly Shore, Blair Underwood, Thomas Haden Church, Rosie Perez, Gregory Itzin, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Tim Russ.
