American Idol Fantasia Steals Spotlight

Last night on American Idol Syesha who was the last remaining female contestant was sadly eliminated from the show and some members of the public are calling the show a major fix. I think this is because for the past few months now everyone has been saying that it will be the two David’s who will go head to head at the end and that is just want will now happen next week. What do you think of the whole thing do you think that it is a fix or just the way the show went?

Fantasia, who won American Idol during season 3 back in 2004, came back as a guest star and performed her new song “Bore Me”. It’s said that her performance immediately sparked a lively debate on the internet over whether Fantasia was back to her magnetic self or had completely lost her mind. It’s also said that many viewers commented on Simon Cowell’s slack-jawed stare during Fantasia’s performance, saying he couldn’t have made his feelings any clearer.

Now a lot of people have said that her performance was really bad but a few have said that they really enjoyed it, but what did you think?

You can see her performance below

  1. Fantasia - go home!! She’s not a singer - all she does is SCREAM!!! When did screaming become a heralded performance? There is no talent there - I can scream just as long and as loud as she did. Why in the world did Idol bring her back. Come on - get real and get rid of Fantasia.

  2. I think the performance from Fantasia was one of the worst performances I have ever seen. I still can not believe that it was considered good enough to even be on TV. It was awfull!

  3. I totally loved Fantasia last night, too! Her natural and exuberant energy, her performing talent, her originality and stage presence. She was awesome crazy FUN!!! She made the show worth watching. Otherwise, it would have been one of the most boring Idol nights ever. I really think Fantasia saved the show last night and gave everybody a lesson of what a true Idol should be about. I enjoyed every second of her performance!

  4. I could not tell what African Jungle this music was coming from.
She appered to be impernating James Brown on crack. I hope this was a walk out performance, because if it was rehersed, and the American Idol camp allowed this on national TV…. then they are doomed. A maximum 1% of TV watchers might have enjoyed it. They would have all been from southern California and or Central Africa.
What a waste of electricity. She never had talent. She has a wide tunnel mouth and screams some mumbo jumbo driving all the wild birds from their nests.

  5. Fantasia was awful you could not understand 75% of what she was attempting to sing or scream. She reminded me of a Red Roster trying to dance & Sing. It was awful !!!!!

  6. I had been a Fantasia fan until last night. What the heck was that. I couldn’t understand a word she said. It was totally confusing to me. I felt much like Simon, but had I not been awaiting the balance of the show, I would have tuned her out. C’mon Fantasia you can do better than all that shreiking last night. It did remind me of James Brown as another reviewer said, but not in a positive way. It didn’t flatter her, I can tell you. Hope this is not the road you’ll be taking for the future.

  7. I have to agree with Jerom, fantasia’s performance left me in awe and shock. I was speachless and could not believe that this show would ever inslut viewerr’s intellegince. I could not undertand one word and not only that this was a jungel like performance, very ugly I wanted to run to the bathroom and throw up. What got me more upset is that today on the view, this republican queen Elizabith talked about how great Fantasia was last night and not one dared to challenge her. The view sucks, there is only one veiw and that is of Elyzabith. I’m not watiching this program any more…miss you Rosie

  9. Jungle like? Are you kidding me? So what?

I thought Fantasia was awesome. She should have taken a breath in between, but she made the show. And for everyone who’s saying she has no talent should really shut it because most likely, you’re the ones who don’t know music and/or can’t sing.

  10. Actually Jay, you must be either smoking Fantasia’s crack pipe or you’re kidding us all. She made the show? More like she made the show suck. She’s NOT a good singer and she represents some not so cool ideas. She was obviously pushed by idol to make a statement to show we could have a someone like her win. I’ll leave theories out, but you know nothing about singing. Kelly Clarkson is a real singer. Tamyra Grey, Carrie Underwood, Jordin, Clay are all REAL singers. Fantasia was over hyped that year. It was a joke with low sales and that’s all there is to it. So don’t go telling people they don’t know music or singing. Clean your ears out.

  11. Music is an opinionated culture. So, you obviously do not like Tina Turner’s music. Her vocal rage is not high as well. Plus in her early years, she and Fantasia would be kin. Fantasia performance was awesome…(less the hair color)

Sorry, I would not put Jordin and Clay in the list with Kelly, Tamera and Carrie….or were you joking…..

  12. Thanks JZ for putting some reality into this. Sorry put I studies music and I appreciate creative, original and over the top performances. Fantasia’s performance lacked taste, and talent. The only entertainment we got out of it is that we saw her make a fool out of herself. If we had any doubt about her talent before, well now she made it crystal clear that has None. Not only the singing was an utter miss, screaming and shouting. But the dancing made me want to throw up. Have you seen the look on Simon Cowell’s face??? I mean that summes it up. I believe he knows good music right??? Enough of this Fantasia crap…she never did well after she won anyways and now this is the end of her career.n if she makes a concert she will have 10 people in it.

  13. Fellow Idol Fans,
I am so glad we all don’t have the same opinions or we would all look alike, dress alike, and all the other things that comes witht the territory. None the less I can say I love ‘Tasia. I thought the performance was energy packed. I guess that’s the African part of me :). Furture more those of you who commented she has no talent should probably have attend the play “The Color Purple”, where she received rave reviews.
Finally friends I am so glad we don’t have the same taste, but we can say how we feel without being NASTY about our opinions. U GEAUX FANTASIA :)

  14. Fantasia!!! your are doomed - what a waste / I could have done better, and I… don’t sing!!! You must of been coke up, that’s all I can say! You just ruined your career in front of millions of people watching!!! Shame on you for such a lame idotic preformance…….My question is “How did AI permit her to make such a fool of herself”.

3 words for you…..: horrible, discusting performance ,and a waste of my time!!! And to think, I use to like you. Not………….!!!

  16. The look on Cowell’s face said it all. Fantasia was terrible. The song was god-awful. She may have had the best voice of any contestant ever, but boy did she lose it.

  17. She was unbelievable…her performance was captivating…I love her new song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. I never thought the girl could sing. I couldn’t believe they eliminated LaToya that year. I may not be a music expert but I’m not deaf and this girl always screamed instead of making music. If you like screaming she’s your girl. But what she did on AI really finished that show for me.
