Well my head is still spinning as to why Iron Man director Jon Favreau still has not signed up for the sequel. Well Favreau has shed some light on the subject, he told Howard Stern. “They’re all talking - they want to do it, they even announced a date.” Stern as always was harassing his guest and managed to get a little more from Jon Favreau, he revealed on the show that he made just $4 million on the first Iron Man movie however; he does have a net profit deal, but has yet to see any money from the deal, he thinks that he will not see any money from the deal for years.
Favreau has said that the Elf movie only cost $32 million to make but managed to make $125 million, he added that technically the movie still has not made a profit, hey that’s Hollywood for you. Favreau has said that all the main stars from the first Iron Man movie have signed up for three movies, but he did add that it means that they will come back. Favreau said “They’re all signed for three but it doesn’t work that way. That all goes out the window when you make $100 million dollars,” he continued “Because people want to have a good relationship with the people they are working with, and if they’re making that kind of money, it’s an understanding that they’re going to negotiate.”
Let us hope that Jon Favreau does sing up to direct Iron Man 2, ok we know that he is not the best director in the business, but his direction for the first movie was spot on.
