Awesome model....but how is this any better from what we've seen?

This might look better to some...but remember this is a standalone model that isn't moving or composited into a scene. When you have to consider movement, reflections, and the like...well, let's just say this model needs to be put in the proper context before it can be compared to the movie version.

I'd like to see this model put into the same pose as the "roar" shot from the movie and composited into the same background before calling this better. Then I'd like to see it animated....

I agree that this Hulk looks superior to the one in the latest Hulk movie -- the Hulk from the first movie being one of the pinnacles of creature modeling -- but you have to take it in context with articulation and movement. There is an equal chance that the static image of Jonas' model would look like crap if we saw it animated.
One of the major problems with the new Hulk vision is the way displacement maps are treated. The base model doesn't look good to begin with, but then an amateurish level of poorly made displacement maps is painted onto the model, giving it a very CGI quality, which is the exact opposite effect you want when trying to get the audience to believe the creature is real.

Keep on pressing for better CGI in movies. Being in the industry, I know what's possible and there really is no excuse for big-budget blockbusters to use consistently poor digital creations.
