Shia LaBeouf to play lead in Indiana Jones 5: Will Harrison Ford be missed?

Filed Under: Movies | By: Jim

The red carpet is not even out for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and George Lucas has already been talking about making Indiana Jones 5. Ok so it was obvious that he would want to make another, as the newest movie looks set to go down a storm. It seems that this is a dream that Lucas has not shared with pal Steven Spielberg or even Harrison Ford yet, the reason could be because Lucas has been thinking about placing Shia LaBeouf in the lead role, taking over from Ford who has always played Indy.

It looks as though George has plans for Harrison to have a smaller part, Lucas would like to see him come back and play a role much like the one that Sean Connery played in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I think that this is a very bold move that Lucas is trying to pull, one that I think will not go down with the fans of Indiana Jones, and no one can replace Indy. If this were to happen then all the recent rumors that Mutt Williams who is played by LaBeouf, about him being Indy’s love child might actually be true.

Sorry if I have frightened you Indiana Jones fans out there, just to allow you to sleep tonight Ford has said that he has no plans of hanging up his fedora and whip just yet, unless he is told otherwise.

I think that this Indiana Jones was the worst one so far but if Shia Lebouf plays the next Indiana Jones then I will feel that there was something good that came from this poorly written movie. I like Shia and the characters that he plays and with his excellent acting skills this will be the perfect role for him to play to move into the mainstream of adult actors.

The movie is not that worse, not as lame as the temple of doom(sorry)But I must admit this one is way far fetched,I mean UFO’s?,I dont agree that Shia should replace Ford,Beleive me when I say It’s not a ” GOOD IDEA “.As to Lucas saying that there’s a possibility of a 5th installment,it should be a very good script.,It BETTER BE!!!

Obviously not big Indiana Jones fans. I have enjoyed all of the story lines for Indiana Jones, 4 was pretty good, was just glad to see Indi again, but The Last Crusade was still the best!
Though I like Shia and his acting skills, I do not like the idea of him carrying on this adventure, it should just end with Harrison Ford. Let it be, dont pound it into the ground. I just wouldnt be the same.

Indiana Jones With Out Harrison Ford Forget It.Harrison Ford Is The Reason Why Indiana Jones Is So Successful.I Am A Hugh Fan Of Indy With Out Harrison I Would Not Even Go See The Movie.Taking Him Out Would Have The Same Effect As Not Being Able To Eat Yes It Would Be That Devastating.Lucas And Spielberg Would Be The Worlds Biggest Mistake If They Took Harrison Out OF Indiana Jones.Harrison + Indy = Forever!

I hate this idea Lucas has in mind. I like Shia’s role in the fourth film as a greaser and it should stay that way. They should still have Harrison Ford carrying the adventure. Sorry George Lucas, I not satisfied of that idea.

    LOL
ok..LaBeouf did a nice job in the movie as sidekick…Is insane to try to make him act like Ford did ^^ not that he can’t coz he’s young…The fact is that Indy is INDY and fans are fans..We’re used to Harrison Ford.
The only insane way(and I mean) to make Mutt act like Indy would be if any weird discovery in a journey can make ‘em exchange minds from their bodies ^^ LOL
that sounds so insane and hilarious.Of course, not happening….but at least it does work in fanfiction ^^

Well u see…regarding Jennifer\’s comment yah, LaBeouf is pretty good.He\’s workin hard. Come he knows better ur opinion and the risks ^^ so does Lucas and the rest.
But let\’s face it. Harrison Ford is older. If they wanna do a spin off, fine by me. If they wanna place the story in a further time…that\’s ok.
if they wanna put the story generations after and make LaBeouf play another role similar to a mix of Indy-Mutt personality……who-knows?! I keep my mind open for a change ^^ or to watch Harrison Ford to try it again (gosh that would be soo soo exciting)
huh? I think the best Indy movie is the 1st one. The Lost Ark is my favorite, but I also liked the last one.
Yah I know…Talkin about facts: changes are always insane at the beginning but to tell the truth… I do remember spin offs ending up to be more successful than the original versions o.O (Popeye is one example of that.Yah weird, but truth)
Everything is possible. We can\’t tell that now.Who-knows? not even I do.

ok so lettin Harrison Ford put down the flame isn’t such a bad idea. . .it’s a new generation and although a lotta fans out there are stuck on the old Indiana i think a new twist to the plot would make it exiting. .i mean who wouldn’t want to see the prodigy of a son follo in his old mans footsteps?? If ur thinkin otherwise then your just crazy… the fact that Lucus is thinkin about doin that isa great idea. I would love to see how the next newer generation of Indiana Jones would be.. .Though i didlike the ending of the 4th 1 cause it kinda had you guessin that he was gonna puton the hat. .BUT then outta knowhere Indy shows up and takes his hat back as if he saying “I’m not down for the count just yet” lolz
