The Nintendo Wii Fit has been available to purchase for a while now, and yet there are still shortages of the balance board according to Wii Fit Tracker. However is not just the Wii Fit that is in short supply, the console itself is still in short supply, and that is a year and a half after the release of the world’s most popular games console. Most of us would have thought that demand for the Nintendo Wii would have died down a little after the Christmas Holiday period, but it seems as if demand is higher. Many people who are looking to purchase the Wii console are still having trouble getting their hands on one, and that is also the case with the Wii Fit.
According to Wii Fit Tracker, there are just a few places where the Wii is available, but they are part of a bundle which will cost you more money. These bundles will cost you from $390 to $500, so you have to really want one to part with that amount of cash. The thing is Nintendo have come out with a number of excuses as to why the Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit is out of stock still, one excuse was that they had planned for big sales numbers, but not historic ones. The Japanese games company has said that they are doing all they can to reach the demand of customers.
Nintendo are to increase production of the Wii by 2.4 million per month, this extra production should help with the shortage, however the company still does not know if it will be enough. You do have to ask yourself if Nintendo were in fact overwhelmed with the popularity of the demand for both the Nintendo Wii Fit as well as the console. However; some people who are waiting for their Wii have said that the shortage is just down to bad management.

Is it bad management or are the shops and Nintendo playing the same games as they did before with Furbys.
I know it sounds silly but the big stores had literally thousands of the toy but only released a few a day, as a supplier to retail trust me this is very factual.
Thus demand stayed high and all the dissapointed parents and children bought other things to get around this.
Call me synical, I have just seen this before………

yes its absolutely true. I know a kmart that has them but wont sell them until a certain date.
also a big part of the problem is ebay etc. resellers buying up what ones are available.
add to it nintendo not making many on purpose and also syphoning the supply.
its a bunch of different factors that all add up to making something seem in high demand and low supply just to make the demand greater then it really is because ppl want what they can’t have.
if wii fit was readily available at every store noone would care about it and regardless the fad for it will soon fad as with the wii once ppl realize its really not that great of a product and that they were just misled by the low supply and seemingly high demand

I have been searching for months for a wii fit - in shops and on internet… they only seem to be on ebay and amazon for over £100.
Its not fair! My boyfriends sister was willing to wait on a waiting list —- but after 3 months they took her of the waiting list.
Its getting beyond a joke!
